This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic NQT or an ambitious, experienced teacher seeking to develop their career in a successful and highly supportive environment. You will be teaching throughout the ability and age range at KS3 and KS4. The Geography department is a strong team with a track record of success and passionate about creative, engaging teaching and learning. The ethos is one of high expectations with a wide variety of exciting enrichment activities in place. Geography is a very popular subject with very good results for students of all abilities. The quality of teaching and learning is good. The personal development of all staff is a priority. There is a comprehensive induction programme and excellent opportunities for high quality CPD. Geography is part of a thriving Social Sciences Faculty where History, RE, Sociology, Psychology, Child Development and Health and Social Care are also taught. The ability to teach a second specialism within Social Sciences is highly desirable.

Harwich and Dovercourt High School is an 11-18 Academy with 1200 students serving the town and immediate area. The school was inspected in June 2016 and judged good by Ofsted. This is an attractive part of the country with excellent links to London and the Continent.

Harwich and Dovercourt High School (HDHS) is a popular, mixed 11-18 comprehensive situated on the north-east Essex coast.
