As part of our Trust expansion we require a Teacher of Geography.

Maternity cover (with the possibility of permanent for a suitable candidate)

Maiden Erlegh Trust is an exciting place to work where we focus on high quality teaching and learning, ensuring all students receive a high quality education. You would be joining a dynamic team of exceptional and very supportive Geographers who are part of an innovative team of Humanities specialists. You may be required to teach at Maiden Erlegh School and Maiden Erlegh School in Reading (1.5 miles apart).

Our results are consistently well above national and students from different backgrounds and of different abilities thrive. In 2016, the school Progress 8 score was +0.41 and Geography results from this year for GCSE were 83% A*-C, with 35% achieving an A* or A. At A Level, 89% achieved an A*-C. Maiden Erlegh School in Reading opened to Year 7 students in 2015 and therefore has no official results.

Professional development is a strength and we offer a flexible CPD programme which staff can tailor to their own needs. We welcome applications from new and experienced middle leaders and we have a proven track record of supporting ambitious staff to senior leadership posts and Specialist Leader of Education roles through our Teaching School and Trust.

Staff wellbeing is a priority and a key factor in school improvement decisions. We are happy to discuss flexible working arrangements including part-time working and job-sharing.

Maiden Erlegh School, an Ofsted awarded 'Outstanding' school in all inspection categories, is a highly successful comprehensive school providing education and enrichment for over 1,800 students aged 11-18. 

We have been serving our local community for more than 50 years and were one of the first schools nationally to convert to an academy 2011.
