Humberston Academy is now recruiting for Teacher of Geography.

The successful applicant will be part of a team that has a variety of specialised teachers, all offering support and guidance to each other, which creates a positive and hardworking ethos. They go above and beyond to ensure all students achieve.

Therefore, we are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic candidate to deliver Geography up to KS4 and Humanities up to KS3.

About our Academy

Humberston Academy is an oversubscribed ‘outstanding’ academy located in an affluent area of North East Lincolnshire. As well as being an Ofsted graded outstanding academy, Humberston Academy achieved ‘World Class Schools’ status in December 2019. Humberston Academy continues to deliver incredible opportunities to young people with a specific focus on STEM enrichment and favourable links to the apprenticeships industry as well as traditional route towards higher education.

About the role

Teach the Geography curriculum across the age and ability range

Accountable for the quality of teaching and learning and students’ progress and attainment of timetabled classes

Set high expectations for standards of teaching, learning, conduct and relationships, and model good practice

Plan, and deliver engaging learning activities that are differentiated to meet the needs of all students, and that stretch and challenge students to achieve their potential

Mark students’ work and homework in line with the Academy marking and feedback policy

Set and mark homework in line with the Academy homework policy

Responsible for a tutor group

Who we are looking for 

High standards of teaching and learning

A good degree in a specialist subject teaching qualification

Nationally recognised teaching qualification

High level skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to teach Geography across Key Stages 3-4

High level skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to teach Humanities across Key Stages 3

A strong classroom teacher, demonstrating ability to innovate

Understanding of the importance of a knowledge rich curriculum

Able to showcase evidence of the use of technology in teaching and learning
