Job overview
Teacher of Geography
We have a growing reputation in the local area as a caring school with high expectations of learning, behaviour and attendance. The rapidly growing demand for places at Weavers Academy presents us with this opportunity to increase our staffing in a number of different subjects.
As one of the most improved schools in the UK last year we attribute our success to our emphasis on coaching and professional development. Staff have considerable access to a broad range of opportunities to further develop their practice. We are on-going participants in a number of programmes including ‘Teaching Leaders’, Olevi’s ‘Outstanding Teacher Programme’ and ‘Future Leaders’. In addition, our staff have abundant opportunities to debate their practice through the 'Breakfast Learning Team’ and to participate in school-to-school development as part of the growing multi-academy trust ‘CET’ that is well supported by leaders in education across the country.
It is because of these opportunities that Ofsted noted the ‘real buzz about the school: learners are enjoying their learning and teachers are enjoying the challenge of developing highly effective lessons and learning opportunities’ when they visited us in July 2016. The school was judged 'good' in May 2017 (Ofsted).
Successful candidates will join a collaborative and committed staff team that have a vision to succeed through a shared focus on teaching and learning.
Please note: we will only accept applications from those who have QTS or are on a programme leading to QTS.
Please send your completed application form and covering letter to our HR Manager, Ms. S Cirelli at the following address: Weavers Academy, Brickhill Road, Wellingborough, NN8 3JH.
Applications by email are welcomed and should be sent to: HRManager@weaversacademy.org.uk. CVs alone are not accepted.
Closing Date: 12 noon on Wednesday 31 January 2018 with interviews the following week. Early applications are encouraged as we will review applications as we receive them, and applicants may be contacted before the closing date.
Creative Education Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to undertake relevant safeguarding checks.
