You should be an academically strong graduate in a relevant degree discipline (i.e. Geography/Geology) with the flexibility to teach up to A-Level. A genuine passion for the subject is essential. You should have a clear commitment to the life of a busy boarding and day school and a drive to help each and every student achieve their very best.
The successful applicant will be an inspirational teacher who has a clear passion for the subject, and someone that has the ability to deliver high performance across a wide ability range. They will have strong ICT skills, including in the use of GIS. This person will also have their own ideas about the subject and, with mentorship, have ambitions to lead a department in the future.
All colleagues are expected to act as a pastoral tutor, attached to a day or boarding house, and should be willing to be involved with the wider life of a busy boarding and day school.
Experienced teachers are welcome to apply or, where applicable, we provide full statutory induction for NQTs and the School is also able to train new entrants to the profession. Regardless of the level of experience, a deep vocational commitment to teaching is essential.
