Job overview
We are currently seeking a committed, engaging and challenging teacher of Geography to teach across the abilities and age ranges, KS3-5.
Geography is a popular subject at both GCSE and A level (both Edexcel), and achievement is on an upward trend, currently at the national average. We offer a range of trips and activities to students, and this has proven to be a great success in supporting student achievement.
Geography is a separate subject within the Humanities faculty, and is well-led by a team of both experienced and new, young staff.
Westfield Academy has a proven track-record of success in developing new teachers to the profession, and we would be delighted to show you around both the Faculty as well as the Academy.

Ofsted report
“The school has improved in many areas since the predecessor school was last inspected. The quality of teaching has improved and the curriculum in Key Stages 4 and 5 is better suited to the needs of pupils. Subject leaders have a clearer understanding of the quality of teaching in their areas because they spend time monitoring pupils’ progress. Pupils make good progress. They join the school in Year 7 with levels of attainment that are consistently below the national average. When they reach the end of Year 11, their standards are in line with the national average in a wide range of subjects, including English and mathematics.”
