Felpham Community College is a vibrant, forward-looking school on the south coast in West Sussex. In March 2019, our one day, short OFSTED inspection confirmed our OFSTED ‘Good’ status originally achieved in January 2016. The school is an 11–18 local authority, mixed comprehensive with 1,360 students on roll and a very successful sixth form. This is an exciting time to join Felpham as we embark on improving our facilities for our students and staff with an £11.5M building project completing in autumn 2019.
We are seeking to appoint a Teacher of Geography to join an established and effective team of specialists. The department has detailed, well-resourced schemes of work for every key stage and well planned and structured lessons. Teachers regularly share ideas and work collaboratively to develop and improve these schemes of work and lessons to ensure high standards of teaching and learning. This role would suit an NQT or more experienced colleague.
The successful applicant will be keen to immerse themselves in this effective team, contributing to the future development of the department. They will be required to teach Geography across Key Stages 3 and 4 and there would be opportunities for Key Stage 5 teaching. A desire to build strong, effective relationships with students and staff to create a cohesive, inclusive and positive school environment is also sought.
