Teacher of Geography

Burgess Hill GirlsWest Sussex

0.8 to a full time timetable

Required for January or April 2022

We are looking to appoint a dynamic and inspirational teacher with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to join the successful Geography Department in this high performing school. We will consider applicants who are seeking a part time timetable ranging from at least 0.8 up to full time. The successful candidate will be motivated and aspirational and will work with the department in promoting a love of Geography both inside and outside the classroom.

The successful candidate will teach students through the Senior School from Year 7 to Upper Sixth and must have the capacity or potential to teach Geography at A level. NQTs are encouraged to apply along with more experienced candidates. Most important is the ability to communicate a clear passion for the subject to pupils throughout the Senior School and a willingness to engage students in a wide variety of co-curricular activities designed to inspire a love of Geography. The subject is extremely popular at GCSE and A level, with students each year taking up places to read Geography at university. Contribution to the wider extra-curricular life of the School is also essential.

Completed application forms should be sent to our HR Manager, Mrs Gillian Coleman at hr@burgesshillgirls.com

Closing date for applications is 9am on Monday 4 October 2021

Short-listed candidates will be contacted by telephone and interviews will take place on Friday 8 October 2021.

The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and the successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced disclosure through the Disclosure and Barring Service.
