Job overview

PART TIME TEACHER OF GERMAN (from September 2022)

Founded in 2015, Le Régent is a Swiss boarding and day school with an international academic programme. Over 200 students from Switzerland and around the world are educated in an ultra-modern campus in the heart of the Valais Alps in  Crans-Montana.

Le Régent follows a rigorous academic programme in English in preparation for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme while nurturing  the individual talents of each student with its diverse extracurricular offering, including sports, arts, music and mountain activities.

Le Régent has been under the guidance of Institut Le Rosey since August 2019.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking to appoint an ambitious and forward-thinking first-language speaker of German able to teach across a range of year groups (normally grades 8-12/UK years 9-13) up to and including  IGCSE and the German Literature programme at the IB to first-language speakers of German or the IB programme of German as  a foreign language.

The number of periods will depend on demand but will probably amount to 25%-30% of a full-time timetable.

The ideal candidate will be both a qualified and experienced teacher of German as a first language and also as a foreign language. Although IB experience is highly desirable, Le Régent would fund official training if this is necessary.

We will not hesitate to appoint the right candidate ahead of the closing date.

SAFEGUARDING

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our students, which includes ensuring that we adopt safe recruitment and selection procedures that prevent unsuitable persons from gaining access to children. The successful applicant is expected to undertake an enhanced criminal record check - this is a condition of employment.

WORK PERMITS

Obtaining work permits for non-EU candidates can be a difficult procedure and we may be obliged  to appoint a candidate with an EU passport or a Swiss work permit.

Our boarding school in the sunny Swiss canton of Valais, is the ideal place for students to become all they can be amongst inspiring students and educators in a family-like atmosphere.

At the same time, Le Régent is proud of its commitment to contemporary pedagogy. An accredited IB school, Le Régent paves the way to the most promising universities in the world while respecting each student’s specific interests and concentrating on their strengths.

Who students are today is of great importance to us. However, who they want to become and how they want to shape the world of tomorrow is even more important.
