We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and well-qualified graduate to fill an important role teaching German throughout the School in our large and thriving Languages Faculty. Creativity and academic challenge are key to our approach and we are looking for someone who shares that ethos. An enthusiasm for organising exchanges and trips is a must, and the ability to teach another language would be an advantage (even if the language is not currently one of our curricular languages for example Russian or Arabic).
We are a young, dynamic Faculty of over thirty staff, including a Faculty Administrator. The Faculty has an overall Head of Languages as well as Heads of each individual Department (Mandarin, Japanese, German, French and Spanish). There is a strong culture of celebrating languages and of learning from one another. We are experienced in supporting new teachers through the Schools Direct programme and are therefore happy to consider applications from those seeking to join the profession as well as more experienced colleagues.
Staff will be encouraged to contribute fully to the co-curricular life of the School and this is reflected in the salary offered. A strong commitment to the pastoral and house system is also anticipated. Accommodation may be available. Assistance is offered towards removal expenses.
We welcome applications from all parts of our community as we aspire to attract staff that matches the social and cultural diversity of our student intake.
