Bristol Brunel Academy is an oversubscribed, forward-thinking Academy based in Speedwell, Bristol, rated “Good” by Ofsted in 2013. Our students are excited to learn and are real ambassadors for our diverse community who benefit from a hugely positive and supportive learning environment. 

We are seeking an excellent Teacher of Girls' PE to join our successful PE department on a full-time basis covering a period of maternity leave. This opportunity is available up to 8th April 2018, or the earlier return of the postholder.

Your duties will include: 

  • delivering PE at KS3 & KS4;
  • delivering BTEC Sport, GSCE PE and Health & Social Care at KS4;
  • demonstrating a variety of delivery methods, which will stimulate learning that is appropriate to student needs and demands of the syllabus.

We are part of the Cabot Learning Federation (CLF) and when you join the Federation, you will be provided with the opportunity to participate in both Academy and pan-federation professional development from a wide network of high quality education professionals.

About The Bristol Brunel Academy

Bristol Brunel Academy is a mixed, comprehensive, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form situated in Speedwell, Bristol. It is a sponsor-led academy supported by a multi-academy trust called Cabot Learning Foundation, a partnership of 15 academy schools throughout the West of England, sponsored by Rolls-Royce PLC and the University of the West of England. 

Bristol Brunel Academy provides 1,180 places for secondary and sixth-form students between the ages of 11 and 19 when fully subscribed.

The school has its roots in the establishment of Speedwell Secondary School in the 1960s. It become Bristol’s first specialist school when it was designated a technology college in 1997, and it gained academy status when it was reopened by then prime minister Gordon Brown in 2007.
