Tes are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational Teacher of History on a part-time (0.6) fixed-term basis from January 2022 until Easter 2022. Both experienced and newly qualified teachers are encouraged to apply.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a large 11-18 comprehensive school with a thriving sixth form. The academy became a part of a family of schools in September 2016 and in a recent Ofsted inspection were graded 'Good' and are still improving to become outstanding. With a focus on creating a culture of success, a positive climate for learning, and increased attainment, achievement and social and emotional development, last year’s Progress 8 score put the school in the top 18% nationally.

Some Key Responsibilities:

● Carrying out the professional duties of a teacher as circumstances may require and in accordance with academy policies, under the direction of the Principal

● Promoting the achievement of high standards through effective teaching and learning within subject area(s), preparation, evaluation and action planning

● Being central in the delivery of the ECM agenda, paying regard to the provision of personalisation for students

● Modelling the vision and values of the academy

● Being part of the team driving the development to become an ‘outstanding’ school

● Receiving and acting on feedback to build on the strengths and improve personal performance within the academy systems

● Contributing, where appropriate, to implementing policies and practices and to promote collective responsibility for their implementation

● Taking into account and constantly reviewing academy

The Successful Candidate:

● A degree in a relevant subject

● Hold Qualified Teacher Status

● Good understanding of your subject secondary curriculum, Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5

● Successful experience of teaching at all key stages 

● An outstanding classroom practitioner with a clear direction and vision for teaching and promoting the subject across the academy
