Job overview

An outstanding teacher of History and Politics is required from April 2018 for a Maternity cover. The post would be from 16 April 2018 to 22 April 2019.

The History and Politics Department is remarkably successful, even by the School’s high academic standards. The School has a long-standing record of high academic achievement (89% of A Level entries gained A* to B grades in 2017) and there is also much happening in terms of extra-curricular activities. We expect all staff to be fully involved in School life. The post will involve teaching History from Y6 to Y13 and Politics to Y12 and Y13. The post would be suitable for an NQT (we provide statutory induction) or a colleague with more experience.

The School occupies fine, modern buildings near St. Paul’s Cathedral overlooking the Thames, opposite the Tate Modern.

The school site is situated by the Thames. It has over 20 acres of sports pitches. It was established in 1834 and moved to its present site in 1986. The school is governed by a board and by the City of London Corporation, which appoints its governors.
