(Maternity Cover from January 2018)

Cheney School is a popular, high-performing school located in the heart of Oxford serving a diverse community of students who are eager to learn. The success of the school as an Academy has led to Cheney School expanding into a Multi Academy Trust.

We are seeking to appoint a skilled, ambitious and innovative teacher to join a successful and progressive History Department and to work with the RE Department, both of which are within the Humanities Faculty. We are a strong team which values working with young people and promoting students’ lasting enthusiasm for History. We would welcome a team player who is keen to work and plan collaboratively and contribute to a strong culture of sharing best practice, resources and ideas. The department has strong links to the East Oxford Classics Centre, which is based in one of the History Department classrooms. This exciting post offers teaching predominantly in KS3/4 in History and with some KS3/4 RE.

We will need you to:

  • Be passionate about helping students make excellent progress and reach their potential in History and RE;
