Job overview

We are looking for a Teacher of History who can inspire and give our students a great future.

At the junction of the M62 and A1, Airedale Academy is a school that helps people go places. We are an innovative, outward facing school which is part of a growing and very successful Multi Academy Trust. Both are at the heart of a closely-knit community.

In our most recent Ofsted inspection, we were rated Good in all areas, with the report noting that our “teaching is effective” and “strong relationships between staff and students are based on mutual trust and respect”. You will build on firm foundations as you help us progress towards Outstanding – bringing history to life for a diverse cohort of students, including many from relatively deprived backgrounds.

Like us, you will believe that disadvantage need not be a barrier to success and you will be passionate about assisting students to overcome difficult home backgrounds. Our students have gone on to Oxbridge, prestigious business intern programmes and even careers in blockbuster films, and you will do whatever it takes to create the next generation of historians.

Naturally, you should be a qualified and experienced teacher with a proven record of delivering exceptional outcomes. In return, we offer excellent conditions of employment, including a 2% increase in our main pay scale points, significant investment in CPD and great benefits such as break-time refreshments, access to fitness facilities and even car valeting.

For an informal discussion or to visit the school, please contact Leanne Snaith, Airedale Academy on 01977 664555.

For further details and to apply, please visit www.airedaleacademy.com or email HRAAT@airedaleacademy.com for an application form.

Closing date: 8:00am on Thursday, 18th January 2018.

Interview date: week commencing 29th January 2018.

Northern Ambition Academies Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check.
