Required from September 2017, an enthusiastic and well qualified Teacher of History to join an outstanding, innovative team. An ability to teach A Level is essential, and a knowledge or experience of the IB programmes are desirable, but not essential, and training will be provided, as required.
History is one of four subject areas within the Humanities department. The department also includes Business Studies, Geography and Religious Studies teams.
In Key Stage 3, all pupils study History, Geography and Religious Studies. Last year, for GCSE, 91% of History students achieved A*-C. Progress 8 for Humanities was 0.8 and 0.9 for disadvantaged students respectively. (Sig and top 10% nationally). In the Sixth Form, History achieved ALPs 3. In 2016, 38 students sat Higher IB in a humanity with 60% achieving 5-7 grades. 16 students took an IB standard in a humanity with 70% achieving 5-7 grades.
