Peter Symonds is a vibrant sixth form college in Winchester which has been rated by Ofsted as ‘outstanding’ in every respect. We have a large team of committed and talented staff who are at the heart of the success of the College.
History is a large department with over 600 students following the Edexcel A level syllabus on one of three routes. There are nine well-qualified, conscientious and enthusiastic staff. A key feature of the team is strong teamwork, with shared strategies and resources.
Due to growth and a retirement, we seek more than one full time member of staff so have flexibility to accept applications from people seeking full or part time employment. If you have a preference, please indicate that in your application. We seek committed teachers, either experienced or newly qualified, with a passion for the subject and the skills to inspire our students. You will be a graduate of History or a closely allied subject.
Please note that posts advertised to start in September 2020 actually commence with student enrolment on Tuesday 25 August 2020. Teaching staff are required to work this week but should you have an existing commitment please make this clear on your application and we will honour it.
Closing date: 12 noon on Tuesday 25 February 2020
Interview date: Monday 9 March 2020
