Salary – Sixth Form College Association Salary Scale, points 1 to 9  

We require for the next academic year, a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher of History to work in this high achieving and popular department. The successful candidate will teach the History A-level syllabus.  The College teaches the AQA examination board studying Tsarist and Communist Russia along with the Making of Modern Britain.  The post is suitable, for a recently qualified teacher or someone wishing to work in a sixth form college setting.   History is a popular subject with good numbers in both year groups.    For an experienced teacher with a clear track record of outstanding teaching, there is an opportunity to join the Teaching and Learning team as a T and L leader.  

This is a two year appointment and you will work across the whole College on an aspect of pedagogy and practice that is of interest to you and a priority for the College.  You will join a team of three others led by an Assistant Principal.  A TLR 2 at St. Dominic’s is worth £1750.  St. Dominic’s is an inspirational place to work.  The staff team are dedicated and gifted practitioners and the students are hard-working, committed and highly motivated individuals.  We promote excellence in all that we do and our culture and ethos permeates all aspects of College life.

St. Dominic's is the longest established centre for Catholic post-16 education in the Diocese of Westminster. The College provides a wide choice of GCE A, Applied A and AS courses. In addition, BTEC Level 3/ Extended Diploma (Edexcel)

All students are fully supported by Personal Tutors in preparation for employment or higher education. The College provides a Religious Education programme for all students. The Course is accredited by the National Open College Network and students are awarded a Level 1 in Year 12 and a Level 2 Year 13. The examination success rate is outstanding and the vast majority of students progress to higher education.  A wide range of extra-curricular activities is available. 

There is easy access by Metropolitan/Piccadilly lines, British Rail and local bus services.
