Surbiton High School invites applications for the position of Teacher of History. This is an exciting opportunity to join an energetic, forward-thinking department dedicated to fostering a love for History both within and beyond the classroom.
Start Date: 1 September 2024
Tenure: Permanent, Full-time
The History Department is well-established team of 5 teachers teaching History at all key stages and Politics at A-level. We have an excellent record of academic success at GCSE in History and at A-level in both History and Politics. We regularly have students apply for History and Politics related courses at Oxbridge and enjoy mentoring these students to help ensure success. All students study History in Year 7, 8 and 9. Over 70% of the year group opt to take History GCSE. Both History and Politics are popular A-level subjects. We have seen a particular increase in interest in Politics over recent years with the changing local and international political climate.

Surbiton High School has approximately 1600 pupils aged between 4 and 18. Our Preparatory Schools are divided into the Girls’ Preparatory School and Boys’ Preparatory School, and the Senior School is girls only from age 11 upwards.
