The British School Warsaw

The British School Warsaw is a highly successful school with a committed and inspirational team of teaching professionals at its heart. In Primary we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage, English National Curriculum and International Primary Curriculum. In Secondary we follow the English National Curriculum in Key Stage 3, IGCSEs at Key Stage 4 and the IB Diploma Programme in Years 12 & 13. As a non-selective school, we are proud that our students’ results are well above UK national averages and that they go on to some of the world’s top universities.

Why Warsaw?

Steeped in history and boasting a huge number of green spaces, Warsaw is a vibrant European capital and international tourist destination. With regular, quick and cheap flights back to the UK as well as within Europe, Warsaw is the perfect place to re-connect with the UK if you have lived further afield or to venture into a new and exciting culture if it is your first foray into international teaching.

You will find yourself living in a significant cultural, political and economic hub with easy access to other historical cities such as Gdansk, Krakow and Wroclaw as well as easy access to beautiful countryside, lakes, mountains and the seaside.

The elegant architecture, grandeur and extensive boulevards of Warsaw earned it the nickname Paris of the North and still holds true today. Wander the streets of the historical Old Town designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, stroll the newly renovated banks of the Vistula and immerse yourself in the fabulous museums and music venues which abound in the city. Sample cuisine from around the world from Michelin star restaurants, quirky and trendy food markets and family friendly eateries all for quite possibly the most reasonable prices of any European capital.

Come and try it for yourself, our teachers love the easy living, fantastic public transport, reasonably-priced social and cultural activities and great climate (cold and dry winters, warm summers) – before you know it you may even be speaking some Polish!

About the role

Join our fast-paced international environment, and you will deliver UK National Curriculum, IGSCE and International Baccalaureate programmes. You will challenge your students to set ambitious targets for themselves and seek out and use innovative teaching practices to enhance our students’ experiences and outcomes.

About you

With the ability to create a classroom culture where there are no limits to what can be achieved, you will have a university degree in your specialist subject, a teaching qualification plus teaching experience and knowledge of the curriculum. Receptive to feedback and ready to embrace change, you will be keen to share best practice with colleagues and peers.

A strong ambassador for the school, you will be able to develop new ways to engage students and parents with the wider school and Nord Anglia Education community. Your strong motivation and communication skills will also enable you to create a feeling of energy, excitement and personal investment within the classroom. You will also be able to meet visa-related restrictions for Warsaw.
