Letovo is a large school serving 1000 students from Moscow and across Russia. Our campus won the Best Architectural Project in Russia for 2016, and is state-of-the art and incredibly well resourced.
We will teach IB MYP and DP alongside the Russian curriculum.
Responsibilities:
Know the content and how to teach it
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the concepts, substance and structure of the content and teaching strategies of the teaching area
- Demonstrate a critical understanding of developments in the subject and curriculum areas, international practices, exam preparations
- Apply knowledge of the content and teaching strategies of the teaching area to develop engaging teaching activities
Plan and teach well structured lessons
- Develop complete and functional curriculum documents for the respective faculty that reflect the values, principles, vision and mission of Letovo School and the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) for the year 2017-2018
- Starting from 2018, teach subject to students aged 12 to 18
Assess, provide feedback and report on student learning
- Develop, select and use informal and formal, diagnostic, formative and summative assessment strategies to assess student learning
- Contribute to the improvement and implementation of assessment for learning and assessment of learning strategies within the department
Engage in professional development
- Engage in professional learning programs / Undertake professional learning programs
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuing professional development
Fulfil wider professional responsibilities (optional)
- Contribute to the pastoral life of the school
- Develop and deliver extra-curricular courses and experiences
Demonstrate consistently high standards of personal and professional conduct
- Act with honesty and integrity

Requirements:
Essential Professional qualities:
- University degree on History or a closely related subject and teaching qualification from a recognized academic institution (University or College degree equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree)
- At least 5 years of teaching History as a curriculum subject to students aged 12-18, including at GCSE and A Level / IB
- Evidence of recent and relevant continuing professional development
- English fluent speaker / as good as
- Confidence and competence of using IT in the classroom and for administrative purposes

Letovo is a non-profit private school for talented children who are eager to learn and challenge themselves academically and personally. The campus for senior school students is located southwest of Moscow in the newly developed Novaya Moskva district (open countryside), and Letovo Junior is located in the city center.
Letovo is a highly selective School serving up to 1000 bright students from all over Russia in grades seven through eleven (the last five grades in the Russian education system) in a senior campus and up to 250 pre-school and primary aged children in Junior school.
The School Site
The School is located in a new suburban district of Moscow. Letovo campus perfectly fits into the natural landscape characteristic of central Russia. Near the school there is a pond, a river and a beautiful pine forest which is used for both academic, sports and leisure activities.
The infrastructure of Letovo school consists of 19 thousand square meters of premises, 10 houses for students, 3 houses for teachers, 40 classrooms, 1,000 seats in the theater, 5 library rooms, 9 scientific laboratories, 4 sports halls and 1 stadium. All premises are designed specifically for children to be accessible and proportionate to their needs providing a quiet and safe place for every child.
Letovo school is a winner of the 2016 Moscow Architecture Committee Award in the nomination for The Best Architectural and Urban Planning Solution for Education and Medicine.
