Salary: MPS

Contract Type: Part time (0.8 FTE)

Contract Term: Fixed term contract up to one year or until the maternity leave ends.

Contract Start Date: January 2020

We are seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic teacher of History, who will ensure that student progress is maximised through innovative, challenging and engaging teaching across KS3 and KS4. The Edexcel GCSE is delivered at KS4 and is a very popular option choice, with a high proportion of students selecting it. The successful applicant will be required to teach some GCSE classes and so familiarity with this course would be desirable. There is a very strong team ethos within the department, with all members working collaboratively to ensure the highest standards are achieved. This post would be suitable for either an established or a newly qualified teacher.

Perryfields High School is a thriving school located in Oldbury, Sandwell. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant difference to the life chances of our students. You will have an important role in building on the good standards already achieved at Perryfields. We are very proud of the achievements our students make academically and in many other spheres. We aspire to provide the very best educational opportunities and outcomes for all of our students and OFSTED acknowledge the progress we are making; awarding us ‘Good’ in January 2018.

Visits to the department and the school are warmly welcomed.  As a school we firmly believe that our purpose is to inspire excellence in character and scholarship - the students and their families have bought into this vision and together we form a friendly and dedicated community.
