St Joseph's College is a vibrant independent day and boarding school in Ipswich providing a broad and seamless education for over 550 girls and boys aged 3 - 18. We provide a wide range of stimulating and challenging opportunities that our pupils embrace in both the academic and extra-curricular life of the School.
The resultant all-round education develops our pupils into well-rounded individuals who challenge themselves to ‘be their best’ in every aspect of life at the school, and beyond. Our innovative teaching and subsequent success starts in the Prep School and runs all the way through the Senior School.
History is a popular and successful subject at St Joseph's College. In recent years the results have been good and a number of students have gone on to study the subject at University. The department sits within a large Humanities Faculty and there are two other teachers of History in the College. Regular trips to the Battlefields in Northern France form part of the programme of study.
For September 2017, applications are invited for the position of Teacher of History to contribute to the delivery of the subject. We are seeking a dynamic and inspiring teacher to continue our strong provision within the subject. You will be able to engage students of all abilities, enabling each young person to achieve their potential. A single-minded focus on pupil outcomes and a willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school including extra-curricular are essential. The ability to offer a second subject may be an advantage.
