Job overview

Are you looking to join a well organised, successful forward thinking History department to either start your career or to extend your experience.

As a department, we are proud of our track record of exam success. In 2019, 83% of our GCSE History cohort achieved 9-4 with almost 40% achieving 9-7, making us one of the highest achieving departments in the school. It is an exciting time to join the History department. We are fast becoming the most popular GCSE option with 6 GCSE classes in our current year 11 cohort. Students are excited to study GCSE History at All Hallows and many go on to study with us at A Level with some studying History degrees at prestigious universities such as Oxford and other within the Russell group. We have high expectations of our students, but our students equally expect exciting and engaging lessons in return. In addition to A Level History, we also run A Level Sociology & Politics.

Learning and teaching is at the forefront of everything we do and as a teacher at All Hallows you will be able to develop your professional skills.

Ofsted says:

· “Students work hard, concentrate in lessons and participate enthusiastically”

· “Very harmonious and respectful relationships between students and between students and staff”.

· “Students’ progress is outstanding”

We offer a supportive and friendly environment where students are exceptionally well behaved and keen to learn.

All staff are highly valued and are offered an extensive CPD package with a relentless focus on continually developing and improving expertise, and striving for excellence both in the classroom and beyond.

All Hallows benefits from very strong transport links to London and the South East and you will have access to numerous sporting facilities after school hours including a swimming pool, fitness room and dance studio.

If you are considering applying to teach at All Hallows, you would be very welcome to visit the school.  We ask all candidates to apply via the attached application form or by sending a completed application form to recruitment@allhallows.net.

We wish to appoint a well-qualified teacher to the above post. Applications from Newly Qualified Teachers looking for their first post or more experienced teachers looking for a career move are equally welcome.

We reserve the right to close early and call for interview immediately, therefore early applications are actively encouraged.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children & successful candidates will be required  to uphold the Catholic Ethos of the school.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013 and 2020.

An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be required, which will reveal both spent and unspent convictions, cautions and bind-overs, as well as pending prosecutions, which aren’t “protected” under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975.

Barred list checks are required for those working in regulated activity.  It is an offence to apply for a post in regulated activity if you are on a barred list.
