Job overview

Due to our continued expansion, Hall School Wimbledon, a vibrant and proudly inclusive co-educational day school, is seeking to appoint a well-qualified and inspirational Teacher of History for September 2024. An ability to offer either Religious Studies or Social Sciences in KS3 in addition to History would be warmly welcomed. An opportunity to be Subject Lead is available for the right candidate.

The successful candidate will possess an excellent degree in History and be able to demonstrate both the ability and the passion to teach this important subject in KS3 and KS4.

Occupying a magical campus in the heart of Wimbledon, HSW offers a contemporary and innovative education in a nurturing environment, designed to enable all pupils to flourish and become independent learners for life. We are defined by our outstanding pastoral care here at HSW and our desire to tailor our teaching to meet the needs of every individual. We have small classes of 12-15 pupils with a very wide range of learning abilities. Our staff are highly supportive and caring. Subject expertise is fundamental, but we are also looking for someone who is approachable, creative and passionate about building positive relationships with every individual student.

In September 2023, we welcomed our first cohort of Year 12 pupils, with the launch of our new Sixth Form. We are seeing a significant rise in numbers across the school and recently received an impressive ISI Inspection report.

Early career teachers are warmly invited to apply, as are colleagues with experience in a similar role and setting.

Salary: Competitive.

The deadline for applications is midday on Friday 10th May 2024

Interviews will be held w/c Tuesday 14th May 2024. (Early applications are advised and we reserve the right to call suitable candidates in for interview as soon as possible).

For an informal conversation or a tour of the school, please contact the Office Manager, Ms Charmaine Grinnam, at office@hsw.co.uk
