Required for September 2018, a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher of History and Government and Politics who is also able to offer Economics and/or Sociology. The successful candidate will join a well-established, supportive and successful department. S/he will be passionate about History and able to communicate enthusiasm and confidence to our pupils. They will be focused on the attainment of all pupils, have proven success at teaching across all abilities, and hold qualified teacher status (QTS). In addition, the successful applicant will be able to demonstrate outstanding classroom practice.
The department achieves impressive results and high levels of pupil progress at GCSE. The timetable is likely to involve KS3 and KS4, with the possibility of some intervention teaching, although the ability to contribute to A Level would be of interest.
