Job overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate and motivated humanities teacher who will inspire our students to achieve their personal best. The suitable candidate will be expected to teach confidently across all abilities and have high expectations of their students. Strong team work skills, dedication and the desire to contribute fully to the development of the successful Humanities department are essential. You should have an ambitious outlook and a firm commitment to collaborative working within a supportive Humanities team. The ability to teach geography would be an advantage.
You will also be strongly student-focused, a forward thinker and a reflective practitioner.
Fixed term contract until 31 August 2018. 0.5 FTE.

About Ralph Allen School
Ralph Allen School is a co-educational, non-denominational, over-subscribed academy for students aged 11 to 18 years, situated in the World Heritage city of Bath. Our ethos is one of achievement through respect, teamwork and personal best.
In 2016 it became a founder member of the Palladian Academy Trust, composed of eight local schools.
Ralph Allen School was named after the Bath mine owner, entrepreneur and philanthropist who helped with the building of Georgian Bath and the early development of the Post Office.
The school was founded in 1957 and became an academy in August 2012. It is celebrating its 60th anniversary during 2017-18. Following recent exciting campus developments, the school has formulated a comprehensive strategic vision for future campus expansion.

The secondary school specialises in three core subjects: English, Math's and Science. It has been mentioned in The Times on its annual list of highest-achieving schools. It has great facilities for extra-curricular activities, including an art and photography building and an all-weather sports pitch.
Ofsted report
Ralph Allen achieved a 'Good' when it was last inspected in 2018, with one of those outstanding features being the Sixth Form. Ofsted assessments of the school have never been below 'Good'.
