Job overview

Teacher of Humanities

KGA MPR/UPR plus KGA Bonus Scheme

NQTs welcome to apply

A fantastic opportunity is awaiting you; the chance to design and shape innovative and creative pedagogical practice in a brand new all-through academy as a founding teacher.

Having appointed exceptional candidates to the key faculty leadership roles, King’s Academy Binfield (KAB) is now looking to appoint a highly motivated, dynamic and innovative teacher of humanities (History, Geography and RE) to play an intrinsic role in our brand new all-through academy in Bracknell Forest. The school will open in a superb new building in September 2018 with Year 7, and will grow year on year to a roll of over 1800 students, aged 3-18. The primary phase and a specialist resource provision is coming on board from 2019, also with Amen Corner North (ACN), a primary school a mile away.

Whilst initially, the successful candidate will be teaching across the humanities subjects, the rapid growth of the school will mean that there will soon be opportunity for specialism. This also means there will also be increasing opportunities for leadership roles within the academy as the school expands. Potential is as important as experience.

Applicants should be excellent classroom teachers and have the ability to motivate, inspire and lead students to excel.  The successful candidate will be a team player and will get stuck in and involve themselves in the wider aspects of academy life. A genuine commitment to our ‘whatever it takes’ ethos is essential to enable every young person at KAB and ACN to thrive.

KAB and ACN are part of the King’s Group Academies MAT, led by a team of former and current Ofsted ‘outstanding’ head teachers and Her Majesty’s Inspectors (HMI). Please note link to King’s Group Academies Vision and Mission - https://kingsacademies.uk/about-us/vision-and-mission/

King’s Education separately operates British schools abroad, educating over 4,000 students in countries such as Spain, Latvia and Panama, offering exciting opportunities for genuine international collaboration.

King’s Academy Binfield is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young students and expects all staff to share this commitment. The successful applicant will need to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.

King's Academy Binfield is a new all-through school within The Kings Group Academies.

Our mission is to provide high quality education within a small community of outstanding schools in the UK that will deliver a transformative learning experience to all our students within the context of a global community of schools.

KGA has at its core the pursuit of the very highest standards both inside the classroom and beyond. We believe all students can exceed their expectations no matter what their prior attainment and experience. In a KGA academy no student will be labelled, we will treat them all as intelligent individuals. Through our ethos, our extended curriculum, our entrepreneurial approach and international dimension, we will ensure students develop into confident, rounded individuals, equipped for life in an ever changing world.

We pride ourselves on listening and responding to the needs of our partner schools and guarantee any school within KGA the opportunity to help shape the future development of our MAT. In a King’s Group Academy, pupils will be able to achieve their personal ambitions and academic goals, with the added advantage and motivation of working alongside peers from other King’s schools around the world.

At KGA our aim is to build clusters of excellence, blending the best of British education with the experience and success gained in our international King’s Group schools. We see staff as our most valuable resource and our innovative approach to CPD enables them to fulfil their career potential, as well as prepare our pupils for a successful future.

King’s Group was founded nearly 50 years ago by Sir Roger Fry and includes nine outstanding schools both abroad and in the UK. With this excellent foundation, King’s Group Academies has been invited by the DfE to develop a MAT and use the expertise of our team to build and provide ongoing support to small networks of outstanding academies.

We share a determination to make a positive difference to the future of our young people, their families and the wider community, as well as to the careers of our staff. This is your invitation to join us.
