Job overview

Tes is seeking a passionate and innovative Teacher of Humanities with Geography to join a successful Federation on a full-time basis from September 2020.

This is an exciting opportunity for an excellent Geography and Humanities teacher with strong subject knowledge to support the continuing development of the Humanities curriculum and to join a dynamic and forward thinking department.

It is a cluster of 3 schools serving over 1600 children. Of these, approximately 1100 are in the secondary phase. Facilities at the school are first class, from the building itself to the resources which support the delivery of a broad curriculum including an extremely popular and well-maintained Learning Resource Centre. Its playing fields, gymnasium, drama theatre and ICT facilities all contribute to ensuring they deliver an education for character, a feature of all Haberdashers' schools that is part of its DNA. Its vision is built from values of aspiration and achievement, personal responsibility, self-discipline and mutual respect.

The academy is 30 minutes from London Bridge by train and the school's proximity to the capital is a strong factor in enabling teachers to enhance the cultural experience for our pupils through enrichment activities.

You will be part of the Humanities subject area consisting of Geography, History, Sociology and Religious Studies. All humanities subjects are popular at both GCSE and at A-Level. The ideal candidate will have the potential to teach Geography from KS3-5.

You Will:

  • Have a relevant Degree
  • Hold UK QTS
  • Have the abilities to teach Humanities to KS3 and then Geography to KS4 and KS5
  • Show evidence of successful involvement in your curriculum area
  • Have positive behaviour management skills
  • Be passionate about your chosen subject
  • Be an effective communicator who leads by example
