Teacher of Humanities (Geography specialism)

St Peter's SchoolCambridgeshire

Teaching is the most rewarding job in the world. We have the opportunity to change students’ lives for the better and you could make a positive impact at St Peter’s School.

We are currently seeking to employ a dynamic and inspiring Teacher of Humanities to join our team in motivating and supporting our students. This role will consist of KS3/4 Geography, with the opportunity to teach KS3 RE and/or KS5 Sociology for a suitable candidate. Humanities is a popular faculty within the school and all students at KS4 choose a Humanities option from History, Ancient History and Geography.

Geography is currently taught in KS3 and KS4 at St Peters. This is an exciting time within the faculty, particularly in terms of the development of Geography provision. We have implemented a new and exciting curriculum in September, and you will have the opportunity to be part of the continued development of this and the move towards Geography becoming the option of choice within Humanities. For candidates who can offer Sociology there will be the opportunity for the right candidate to teach year 12 Sociology which is a popular A Level subject.

The Humanities Department is an innovative, experienced and collaborative team who strive to guide our students towards their goals. You will be joining a well-organised, supportive team of professionals. The department is well resourced, and staff are committed and hard-working. You will receive high quality support and CPD from expert colleagues who will coach and guide you through your professional development.  This is an ideal opportunity to work in a friendly and supportive environment.

We are a forward thinking and rapidly improving, “good” school that is creating a legacy of learning for our community. Our students Learn, Aspire and Exceed as they work with our highly skilled teaching and associate staff supporting and guiding them.

St Peter’s is part of The Cam Academy Trust which offers students and staff fantastic potential to collaborate, share and develop a wide range of teaching and learning across the schools in the trust. As a family of schools, we support, share and challenge each other to improve the future lives of all our young people.

We are based in Huntingdon, just 12 miles north of Cambridge with its own mainline station connecting with London in less than an hour.
