Teacher of Humanities
We seek to appoint a well-qualified and versatile Humanities Teacher from September 2018. This is a full time position with the possibility of Head of Year role for a suitably qualified candidate which would attract a TLR payment.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach both RPE (Religion, Philosophy and Ethics) and History with the possibility of a small number of Geography lessons. History and Geography are both part of the Global Faculty and RPE is part of the Core Faculty. All three subjects enjoy high uptake at both GCSE and A-Level and regularly achieve impressive results. Although in different faculties, all three departments have a collegiate approach to teaching and learning and are innovative and creative. This means that they are hugely popular with our students.
Teaching
The successful candidate will be expected to be an excellent classroom practitioner. As a school we value highly the development of new and existing materials and the post will involve the opportunity to work on the review of existing materials and the development of new ideas.
Above all else, the successful candidate should be enthusiastic about their work with young people and have a genuine concern for their development as individuals.
The school sees the form tutor as a key role in the support, development and welfare of the students and teachers are expected to undertake this role with the same standards and commitment as their subject role.
The role will suit either newly or recently qualified, enthusiastic and aspirational teachers or those with good and outstanding practice who wish to share their expertise and make a difference. The school offers a bespoke CPD programme, research and development, links and networks with other outstanding schools as well as a plethora of extra-curricular and cross-curricular working opportunities.
