Job overview

Windsor School, Albany is a new purpose-built international day and boarding school in The Bahamas with elite Golf and Tennis Academies. Located in Albany, one of the most exclusive resorts in the World, we provide an exciting, bespoke education for 150 students between the ages of 14 and 18 set in the context of CIE A Levels and IGCSEs, tailored to suit the US system, and enhanced by our unique STEP modules.

Our learners' daily schedules follow a mix of Cambridge Core subjects in the mornings enhanced by our own Skills-based Themed Experiential Programmes (STEP) in the afternoon. Windsor STEPs use experiential learning and interactions with practising experts to take learning to new levels, focusing our learners in specific areas where they have a passion or talent. Music and Sound Technology, STEM, and Marine Science began this year, and other areas will follow soon.

Physics is a crucially important subject area, as one of the foundations for our STEM aspirations, and we are looking to employ an experienced, innovative, and inspiring Physics teacher for September 2019 to join our special community. The successful candidate should have a proven track record with CIE IGCSE Physics and A-Level Physics curricula, and will have experience with initiatives aimed at inspiring our learners beyond the classroom.

Windsor School is a unique establishment, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, and located in the idyllic Caribbean. We have built and are growing something very forward-thinking and ambitious and are looking for exceptional, visionary, and adventurous teachers, who genuinely want to make a difference.

An attractive international package is available for the successful candidate. Windsor School has its own salary scale. A salary at the appropriate point on the teachers’ scale will be offered to the successful candidate and will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Windsor School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. The protection of our students’ welfare is the responsibility of all Windsor staff and individuals are expected to conduct themselves in a way that reflects the principles of our organisation. The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance along with other relevant pre-employment checks. References will be taken up and carefully checked.

Please apply in confidence by completing the online application form.

Only those candidates who have been shortlisted will be responded to. Closing date for applications is Monday 20th May. Interviews via Skype may start before the closing date for early applicants, and we reserve the right to appoint before the closing date, if we find an outstanding candidate.

About Windsor School, Old Fort, The Bahamas

Windsor School, a 3 campus, coed, Nursey - Year 13, boarding and day school believes in the holistic cultivation of learners by offering an empowering and scaffolding education; creating a lifetime passion for learning with a global appreciation and awareness. As a registered Cambridge institution offering EYFS provision and an exciting independent primary curriculum based around the  Cambridge Primary curriculum, Windsor Lower School inspires learners to develop a passion for knowledge while giving them the opportunity to earn a high-quality internationally recognised education in a diversified environment.

Windsor Lower School is situated on 5 acres on the island of New Province in The Bahamas and teaches Pre-Reception through Year 6 learners aged 3 - 11.  During the early Pre-Reception and Reception developmental stage, our curricular focus envelops academic, social, emotional, and physiological growth designed to help our learners foster the right openness and joy for learning, relationships, and community.  We believe that a child who is happy, recognised, and celebrated will be prepared for the rigours of a challenging and rewarding education and approach their upper years with confidence.

Following this ethos through Primary coupled with Cambridge programmes our learners are given the opportunity to fully engage themselves in a community-based environment that teaches them to look beyond and think globally in relation to the opportunities that they are building for themselves while celebrating "home" and creating a social consciousness.

At the end of Year 6, learners move to Windsor School Albany Campus. This site offers provision for Year 7 - Year 13 learners and provides a rare academic and athletic upper secondary school experience. Set on 25 acres within the secure, gated resort community of Albany, Windsor School at Albany offers both day and boarding school for learners.

Windsor is actively looking for teachers who believe in setting high standards for education and inspiring new levels of creativity; using new technologies and facilities for sport, art, performing arts, business, and science while instilling the old-fashioned values of respect, compassion, and accountability.
