We are looking to appoint a well-qualified teacher to join the IT and Computing Department within the Faculty of Arts and Communication, to deliver within the following qualification range: BTEC L2 Information and Creative Technology; BTEC L3 Information Technology; A Level Computer Science. Experienced teachers and NQTs are invited to apply.
Qualifications: Appropriate subject-related degree and teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS).
Experience: Recent experience in teaching IT BTEC at level 2 or 3. Experience in teaching Computer Science is desirable, as is experience in the process of Internal Verification.
Knowledge and Skills: Good practical skills in hardware and software and in the use of technology to support teaching and learning. Preference will be given to candidates with excellent skills in spreadsheets, databases, website development, digital graphics, animation and programming.
Personal Qualities: Good teamwork and communication skills are essential as you will be working as part of a teaching team. You need to be flexible, efficient and well organised.
Motivation and expectations: A commitment to high standards, to motivate and support staff and encourage the growth and maturing of students.
Members of the teaching staff are usually also personal tutors. Tutors monitor progress and offer support and guidance to a group of around twenty-five students. The ability to contribute to the enrichment programme would also be welcome.
