Teacher of Key Stage 2. Part time or full time.

Bruern Abbey School, an independent prep and senior school for boys with dyslexia and other learning differences, would like to recruit an enthusiastic teacher of key stage 2. This post is based at the prep school site, in Chesterton. The successful candidate would be required to teach a range of subjects across years 4-7, extending the most able and supporting those who find the subject challenging, in preparation for Common Entrance examinations. Opportunities to assist in the boarding house are also available. A passion for your subject, a willingness to contribute to the extra curriculum program of the school and a sense of humour are vital. Applicants must hold QTS and have experience of or an interest in working with pupils with SEN. Experience of teaching CE and/or GCSE, and leading extra curricular musical activities would be advantageous.

About the School

Bruern Abbey is a unique family of two schools that provide specialist education and pastoral support exclusively for boys diagnosed with dyslexia, dyspraxia or other learning difficulties. Owing to the successes of Bruern Abbey Prep School, well-established as the only mainstream prep school in the country that caters exclusively for boys diagnosed with learning difficulties, Bruern Abbey Senior School launched in September 2022 on an impressive site in Chilton, Buckinghamshire, a 20-minute drive from Bruern Abbey Prep School. There are approximately 150 boys on roll at the prep school prep school, and the senior school has around 80 boys on roll.

• Reading is taught as a distinct curriculum subject
