Located close to York’s attractive and historic city centre, St Peter’s 8-13 is a very successful and flourishing co-educational IAPS and HMC Prep school, for day and boarding children in Years 4-8.
The post will involve teaching art across Years 4-8, as well as being a Form mentor to a group of children and fully involved in the wider co-curricular life of the school. We will consider applicants who want the full time role or who are interested in part-time.
The successful applicant would be expected to work collaboratively and enthusiastically, be a highly effective practitioner interested in all aspects of teaching and learning and offer a significant contribution to curriculum development and co-curricular life within this subject area.
The starting salary will be on the St Peter’s teaching pay scale.
The role will commence on 30th August 2023 and is a maternity cover post for up to one year.

St Peter's 8-13, for girls and boys aged 8 to 13 years, is adjacent to the main campus of St Peter’s School, York. Under the leadership of the Master, the teaching staff provide expertise in the 8 to 13 range, guaranteeing subject specialism to challenge and support every pupil.
The curriculum is wide and challenging with expert teaching from the earliest age. There are many opportunities for recreational and competitive sport with girls’ and boys’ teams enjoying success both regionally and nationally. There are numerous co-curricular activities to choose from on a weekly basis. Music plays a central role in school life, involving the full range of orchestral instruments.
Pupils benefit from fantastic resources and a 47-acre green campus close to the historic centre of York, including industry-recognised sports pitches, an award-winning swimming pool and a new boat house on the banks of the River Ouse.
