Job overview

Concord College is England’s premier co-educational boarding school set in the heart of the Shropshire countryside with 605 students aged 13-19.  Historic buildings sit alongside our state-of-the-art facilities which include areas providing extra-curricular activities, sport and recreation.  We are truly international with upwards of 40 nationalities represented, which creates a wonderfully diverse community.

The College is highly academic and students consistently achieve excellent ‘A’ level results.  In 2021 94% of students achieved A*/A and 98% A*- B.  We are also delighted that 111 students have been offered places at Oxford and Cambridge over the last six years.

We wish to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Teacher of LAMDA qualifications from September 2022 to join the English Department.  The successful candidate will be capable of teaching groups across the age and ability range and must be able to teach both Performance and Communication LAMDA exams.

All of Form 3 (Year 9) sit a LAMDA exam and the group size for these classes will be up to 16.  Lessons will take place on a Monday evening (4-5.30pm), term time only, during Autumn, Spring and Summer.

Students from across the other year groups (Years 9-13) may choose to sit an exam as an extra-curricular activity and teaching for this will take place on Wednesday afternoons/evenings (3-5.30pm & 6-8pm) during the Autumn and Spring terms and will be dependent on demand.

The closing date for applications is midday Monday 27 June 2022

Applications will, however, be considered on receipt and we reserve the right to close this advertisement earlier than the date stated above should we appoint a suitable candidate.
