Lord Wandsworth College seeks to appoint a Teacher of Latin & Classics for September 2018.
Applications are invited from experienced and enthusiastic candidates, with an excellent degree in a directly relevant subject, to teach throughout the College and to join this thriving and dynamic department. Formal teaching qualifications are not essential, however, proven teaching experience would be a distinct advantage. NQTs are also welcome to apply.
Lord Wandsworth College is one of the country’s leading co-educational boarding and day Colleges for approximately 600 pupils aged 11-18. Set within 1,200 acres of its own farmland on the North Hampshire/Surrey border, Lord Wandsworth College offers a rich education designed to allow its pupils to flourish in a rapidly changing and challenging 21st-century world. A pioneering character education programme overarches the excellent academic, co-curricular and pastoral provision, through which countless opportunities are created for all pupils to develop the qualities and attitudes of mind needed to lead successful and fulfilled lives now and in the future.
The Classics Department is highly successful, well resourced, and has its own suite of rooms. Each classroom is equipped with a smartboard and a data projector. Latin is taught to all pupils from Year 7 and in Year 9 pupils continue to study either Latin or Classics. Both subjects are popular at GCSE and continue at A Level. The department runs a wide range of trips and visits, both locally and abroad.
This is a full-time post and the successful applicant will be expected to contribute fully to the co-curricular and pastoral life of the boarding school.
The College offers a competitive salary scale and package.
