Job overview

Teacher of Law with Geography/History/Politics/Religious Education (MPS/UPS)

Bourne Grammar School is a dynamic educational community built on strong ethical foundations. We believe in supporting all members of our school, whether they be students or staff, and we share a commitment to fostering a positive atmosphere and promoting the best possible outcomes for all. As an employer we ensure strong professional development opportunities and encourage staff to identify ways in which they can improve and develop. We believe in adjusting to individual need and treating individuals as individuals. Leadership within the school is characterised by collaboration, consultation and a willingness to listen.

Bourne Grammar School is committed to promoting equality of opportunity for all students and staff, both current and prospective, and in this position, you will actively support an environment and culture that values diversity and inclusion.

Applications are invited to join a popular and thriving Law department at the school, with excellent links to local courts and practitioners. Law is currently offered as an A-level for Sixth Form students, following the AQA specifications with a focus on Criminal Law, Law of Tort and Contract Law, together with some teaching of the Nature of Law, Concepts of Law and the English Legal System. With high academic expectations and a very positive learning culture between students and staff – one in which students enjoy their learning - we are looking for a practitioner who can bring energy, enthusiasm and a “can do” attitude to this field; a person who will work very hard on lessons to motivate and inspire the students. While we value experience, we also value personal drive, initiative and a willingness to learn quickly on the job.

The successful candidate will be required to teach one or more Humanities subject in conjunction with their law teaching.
