Job overview

Join our expanding Learning Support team at St Edward's Oxford, and help us shape a first-rate resource for pupils and staff alike. We are seeking a positive and child-centred individual who has a proven record of teaching children with a wide range of SEN needs.

As our Learning Support Teacher, you will work with pupils to develop executive function skills, build metacognition, and teach strategies that promote independent learning and emotional regulation.

You will be responsible for developing individual programmes of support, preparing and delivering lessons and support in small groups or one-to-one situations, providing support in the classroom and boarding houses as necessary, liaising closely with the Head of Learning Support, academic and boarding staff, and providing regular feedback to parents.

To be successful in this role, you should have Qualified Teacher Status, evidence of continuous professional development, an understanding of the multifaceted needs of young people with special educational needs and associated challenges, and an understanding of the impact of environmental factors on teaching and learning. You should also possess excellent interpersonal skills, be a strong team player, and be well-organised with good planning skills.

We value creativity, innovation, and a positive attitude, and we are looking for someone who is good humoured, enthusiastic, and able to stay calm under pressure. If you are a person who is aspirational and empathetic to the needs of young people with additional needs, we encourage you to apply.

We would also consider part-time applications.
