Teacher of Mathematics and Physics to Key Stages 3 and 4

The position

St. Lawrence College, Athens, Greece is currently seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced teacher of Mathematics and Physics to join our Mathematics and Physics departments in the senior school. 

Brief Job description

The successful applicant will be responsible for the teaching of Mathematics to pupils in both Key Stages 3 and 4, and to teach Physics to IGCSE pupils at Key Stage 4. He or she will work closely with the current Heads of Department in all areas of the planning and delivery of these subjects, including strengthening the schemes of work, creating and sourcing teaching aids, developing and implementing assessment tasks, promoting e-safety and engaging all pupils in the attainment of skills related to these subjects.

St. Lawrence College places great importance on the excellence of the delivery of pastoral care and on the provision of extracurricular activities for all pupils. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to these vital spheres of British education fully and with enthusiasm. 

Brief person specification

In addition to appropriate teaching qualifications and, preferably, experience teaching Mathematics and Physics in a British school either in the UK or overseas, the successful applicant will possess outstanding subject knowledge, excellent communication skills and the stamina to realise the continual improvement of the teaching of both these very important and popular subjects. 

The successful applicant will be available to work from 1st September 2019.

Remuneration

Our new colleague will receive a competitive salary by standards of British education in Greece plus Christmas, Easter and summer bonuses and other benefits. The successful applicant will work alongside friendly and supportive colleagues across our 20-acre school campus set in the stunning natural surroundings of the suburbs in southern Athens.
