This post is to teach Mathematics across Key Stage 3, and IGCSE Mathematics in Years 10 and 11.

Candidates from the UK seeking their first overseas position or international teachers with experience of a British curriculum are encouraged to apply. Fluency in English is essential. The school plans to introduce the IB Diploma Programme in 2023, and most secondary teachers  will play a role in the planning, implementation and teaching of the IBDP.

Flexibility and adaptability will be fundamental to success as will experience, drive and a sense of humour. You would join a very happy team of teachers who have all helped create our wonderful school and who remain fully committed to the school’s future success.

General responsibilities: To prepare, provide and review class or subject based activities that maximise opportunities for student learning. To plan lessons by agreed deadlines in agreed formats and to ensure that copies of planning are available to interested parties. To show good subject knowledge and to share this with other staff when appropriate. To provide a stimulating ordered classroom environment where time and resources are used well. To respond promptly and constructively to pupils’ work. To involve students in the target setting process. To set homework that consolidates and extends classroom learning and that is based on individual need. To ensure the good behaviour of students and to develop within them positive attitudes towards peers, adults, property and school work. To maintain effective records of pupil progress and to ensure the transfer of up to date records when pupils change classes or school. To develop and maintain a good home-school partnership; to consult with and inform parents of the progress, attainment and attitudes of their children. To contribute to a whole school team approach.

The school, which curently has just almost 200 students, is situated just outside Andorra la Vella in a stunning mountainside location. In the future, the school will expand each year group in the Secondary School year on year until we reach Year 13, accompanied by a building programme to further expand the site.

The monthly net salary after social security and low tax deductions is approximately 2,300 euros a month, signifcantly higher than an equivalent role in neighbouring Spain.  The cost of living in Andorra is more favourable than most major European cities or in the UK.
