The Governors seek to appoint a well-qualified, innovative and committed teacher to the Maths Department to teach mathematics in this heavily oversubscribed, historic, high achieving, Church of England High school

The successful candidate will be actively supported through our own in-house CPD and our wider network of support programmes. 

We welcome applications from both experienced teachers and those who will be newly qualified in September 2021.

You will be expected to motivate and excite pupils so they can learn effectively and achieve high standards.  

You must have a degree with a relevance to teaching Mathematics. You will be expected to teach the full ability range across Key Stage 3 and 4, knowledge of the Maths Mastery approach would be advantageous. There will opportunities to support our enrichment curriculum. 

You must be willing to actively promote the Christian ethos and contribute to building the caring Christian community of the school.

Bury Church of England High School is a successful and vibrant Church of England Academy, part of the Bishop Fraser Trust. We are an 11-16 school with 810 places and are significantly over subscribed. The school was established in 1748 and we are proud to have served the Bury and wider community for over 250 years. We joined the Bishop Fraser Trust on 1 January 2022.

Our school vision is based upon Matthew 5 verse 16 “let you light shine”. We desire for all members of our school community to excel and be able to develop and grow their talents as part of our school family. Supporting the vison is our values of Believe, Achieve, Inspire. We are committed to offering a truly Christian education and want all staff, pupils and parents to experience “life in all its fullness”. This comes from academic success, an extensive extracurricular programme that enables all to develop their talents and rooting all that we do in the life of Christ and Christian values. Equally our pupils inspire us every day with their attitude and willingness to be the best that they can be.
