Chiltern Hills Academy invites applications for the opportunity to join the staff of a successful, mixed, 11-18 Church of England Academy in the Chiltern Hills, conveniently situated at the end of the London Underground Metropolitan Line.

TEACHER OF MATHEMATICS – MPS, FULL TIME

Are you:

• Passionate about teaching Maths?

• A caring professional practitioner who can build positive relationships and ensure young people are engaged and motivated to learn?

Required, commencing September 2018, an exceptional teacher of Mathematics. The successful candidate should be able to teach KS4 and KS5, including the new A level specification. 

Applications from NQTs, experienced teachers or those returning to the profession will be welcome. 

The mathematics department is the strongest performing subject in the school (P8 score of 0.30) and is well resourced, with a suite of classrooms and class sizes that reflect our determination to ensure the students realise their potential. 

We have recently completed a capital build with an investment of £10 million which provides an excellent, well-resourced teaching environment. “Leaders know their school well” our OFSTED inspection recognised (February 2017) and further judged the school to be ‘good’ in all categories. “Staff, pupils and parents fully support the headteacher’s vision and would recommend this school to other parents.” “Pupils have embraced the school’s values and ethos. As a result they behave well in lessons and the school is calm and orderly.”

About Chiltern Hills Academy

Chiltern Hills Academy is a Church of England, co-educational secondary school in Chesham, Buckinghamshire. There are circa 1025 students on the school roll, approximately 100 of whom study in the Sixth Form. Chiltern Hills Academy converted to academy status in 2011 and is jointly sponsored by the Diocese of Oxford and Buckinghamshire Council.

We are situated in the market town of Chesham, Buckinghamshire in the Chiltern Hills, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Situated close to the M40 and the M25, Chesham is on the end of Metropolitan line of the London Underground and is 28 miles north-west of London. There is ample parking on-site. Renting here is cheaper than in central London and if you enjoy travelling, it takes about 40 minutes by car to Heathrow.

The Elgiva Theatre, Lowndes Park and an open-air heated swimming pool are just some of the many public amenities available in the town. Chesham is renowned for its community spirit and there are many recreational and community groups catering for the diverse and active population.
