Job overview

Derby Cathedral School opened in September 2018 with a Year 7 cohort of 180 students followed by a  second year group of the same number in September 2019.  The school will continue to increase annually by 180 pupils until its designated NOR of 1300 pupils is reached. Housed in temporary accommodation near the railway station, the school is currently working with contractors to deliver a new city centre, state of the art school in around 18 month's time.

A Church of England free school, the first in the Derby Diocese, sees us as the inaugural secondary school within the Derby Diocesan Academy Trust.  The school accepts pupils of all faiths and none, however it is underpinned by clear Christian values and works collaboratively with Derby Cathedral in a number of areas. As a specialist maths and music school, we naturally offer additional opportunities in these areas. The school is well resourced having ample teaching facilities and new equipment in every faculty.

This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidates to be part of a developing school in its infancy. As the school grows there will be significant opportunities for career development.

Position 1 - Start date 20th April 2020

Position 2 - Start date September 2020

Interviews are scheduled for the 27th / 28th February 2020.
