Job overview

John Madejski Academy is at the start of an exciting journey.

It is a school in Special Measures but not a special measure school.

A new Principal and Leadership Team have already made huge impact and created a learning environment where teachers can teach and students can learn.

However, in a school which is in Special Measures is not easy and you will be someone who will not be swayed by this. We are looking for teachers that want to make a difference and be part of transforming a school and the education of young people in South Reading.

Passion, Creativity, Enthusiasm, Inspiration - this is what we are looking for in our new colleagues.  That you are a professional who teaches good and outstanding lessons; a teacher who can demonstrate good progress and attainment for their students, is a given.

You will become a valued member of our supportive staff team and have access to our bespoke support and CPD programme throughout your career at John Madejski Academy. You will be able to work with a coach to develop your practice, using the Paul Bambrick Santoyo ‘Leverage Leadership’ model. There are opportunities to take on a pastoral responsibility.

If you are dynamic and have a proven track record of securing good progress and attainment of students in KS3 through to KS5, then we would be delighted to meet you.

Visits to the Academy are welcome please contact Andrea Ramsay andrea.ramsay@johnmadejskiacademy.co.uk if you wish to make an appointment.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our students and staff, and expect all staff to share this commitment. Successful candidates will be required to undertake an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
