The school is ideally located with easy access to the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales and the town has a new by-pass road linking directly to the M6. We are fortunate to be a stone’s throw from the sea and the beautiful views across Morecambe Bay.

The Mathematics Faculty is made up of experienced and well-respected practitioners. We would welcome applications from Newly Qualified Teachers and would equally welcome the expertise offered by candidates on the Upper Pay Scale.

The Mathematics Department are keen to foster a genuine love of Mathematics in students. We have well-established and successful links with feeder primary schools and work together with colleagues from across the county to ensure that we continue to develop high quality provision for all students. Our Year Ten and Eleven students take part in the UK MT Maths Challenge on an annual basis and we take up opportunities to attend maths events at Lancaster University with all our year groups. We would welcome another member of our team who would be enthusiastic to further develop our extra-curricular maths opportunities.

Values and Vision

The school values are "learn", "believe", "achieve" and "thrive", and staff encourage the students to “Be the best that you can be”. Extracurricular activities are important, with drama, Minecraft, art, music and chess clubs on offer. Morecambe Community is also one of only a few schools in the north-west of England offering outdoor education as part of its curriculum.

Over the years, there have been a number of significant expansions to the school. Its Lawther Library was opened in 2002 and a floodlit pitch that opened in 2009 is used for netball and tennis; the school also has a pitch set up for football and hockey.

Making Morecambe great again

The school benefits from strong local partner schools, supporting it on its improvement journey. We are looking for courageous, talented staff to work with us to rapidly develop a school with great potential!
