The Maths Department:

The school is looking to appoint a committed, enthusiastic individual as a teacher of Maths. The Maths department is one that has a clear vision for its development and has seen sustained improvement in outcomes for students and has a positive Progress 8 score with a three year improving trend. As well as a Head of Maths supported by a second in Maths, the Maths department also has the Pupil Premium Co-ordinator, a Head of House and two colleagues with TAM qualifications. There is an aspiration to deliver Core Mathematics outside the curriculum for our more able students.

As you can see, this is a strong, dynamic department to work in. We are looking to recruit the best teacher possible to this role whether they are an NQT or an experienced teacher looking for the opportunity to work in an outstanding department in an outstanding school.

The department is innovative and forward thinking. Currently the department is assessing the educational impact of moving KS4 from seven teaching groups to eight groups – a structure that will be reviewed at the end of the school year.

ICT Teaching:

Within this full time Maths role there will also be a commitment to teaching some lower school ICT (approx. 8 lessons per week). The schemes of work are based around the Microsoft Office suite of applications and students also get to experience some basic coding using Scratch.
