Job overview

The Governors are seeking to appoint a well-qualified and inspirational teacher of mathematics. Applications are sought from innovative, enthusiastic and well qualified graduates who are able to demonstrate outstanding teaching, excellent communication and ICT skills and the ability to energise and enthuse others.

This is a wonderful opportunity to join a thriving successful faculty that achieves excellent outcomes.  This is an 11-18 school and for the right candidate we would look to develop their expertise in the teaching of our A level and Further Maths courses. Furthermore we have an innovative partnership with our partner primary schools and currently six of the faculty teach for two hours per week alongside our primary colleagues.  The faculty also runs a number of superb enrichment activities during the year including UK Team Maths Challenge, Techniquest and Numeracy Ninjas.

King Henry VIII School is a Pioneer School for Professional Learning and the Mathematics faculty have worked with EAS and ITET providers leading and sharing best practice in teaching mathematics including Bowland and Singapore mathematics.  It is expected the successful candidate will be given every opportunity to teach across the age and ability range and to contribute to the further development of our valuable range of enrichment and professional learning activities.

King Henry VIII School is committed to developing the potential of all staff and pupils.  A full programme of training and support will be available for all new staff, with an excellent induction programme provided for NQTs.
