Job overview

As King Edward VI Grammar School continues to expand, we are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and talented teacher of Mathematics capable of delivering engaging lessons to KS3 and KS4 pupils. An ability or willingness to teach either A Level Maths or KS3 Computing is desirable but by no means a requirement. The role would suit either an experienced practitioner or someone embarking on their teaching career.

The Mathematics Department at King Edward's is thriving with well over 40% of our GCSE candidates gaining a Grade 7 or better.  At A Level, we are one of the most popular subject options, with over half of the Sixth Form studying Maths, and our Further Maths group is one of the largest in Lincolnshire. Teachers within the department enjoy positive interactions with students, where a passion for the subject takes precedence.

Although selective and academic in our focus, the School’s ethos is centred on the development of the whole child. We are exceptionally fortunate that our committed staff give of their time generously in numerous different ways to share or pursue a passion with our pupils. The School has many different extra-curricular clubs and societies, and music, drama and sport are all strong aspects of our corporate life. We are also unusual for a state school in having a large and active CCF who also help to run our Duke of Edinburgh programme. The desire to share a passion or simply get involved in the extra-curricular life of the school will be an important part of a successful application.

Application form and Job description can be found on the school website - www.kevigs.org or by email from rhona.adam@kevigs.lincs.sch.uk

Closing date is Midnight on Tuesday 20th April March with a view to interviewing the following week.
