Job overview
We seek to appoint a first-rate teacher of Mathematics, or a graduate trainee in Mathematics.
This role could equally suit an Early Career Teacher (ECT) seeking their first teaching position as a qualified teacher, or a Mathematics graduate seeking to train and gain a teaching qualification whilst working.
A graduate trainee appointed to this position will benefit from a reduced teaching timetable and support to gain a PGCE.
Teachers at Uppingham play a full part in the life of this seven-day week boarding school and take on responsibilities in addition to classroom teaching. The co-curricular programme is exceptionally varied and includes a wide range of sports, CCF, community service and the Duke of Edinburgh Award. Each teacher is also attached as a tutor to one of the School’s fifteen boarding houses.

Work is generally presented neatly and pupils’ note-taking is effective. They develop good numeracy skills and their capacity to think critically is notable.
